Hello! My name is Larissa Garza. I am a first-generation Latina. I am 21 years old and I’m from Othello, WA (eastern WA). I live in a very small Latinx community and have been exposed to the unfortunate issues that Latinx communities have faced. Mental health is something that has been stigmatized in my own family and community, which is why I plan on continuing my career in the social work field and will become an LMHC post grad and provide mental health therapy in Latinx communities near me. I received my BA in Social Welfare from UW Seattle in June 2023. I am currently in the advanced standing Master of Social Work program at UW Seattle and will be graduating in June of 2024.
Fun fact: I have swum with dolphins twice.
