My name is Elizabeth “Liza” Diaz, and I am a proud wife and mother of four, as well as the oldest of four siblings born to amazing Mexican parents whose strength and values continue to guide me. I am currently a student in the Master of Nursing–Educator track program at the University of Washington Bothell, where I am committed to advancing health equity through education, advocacy, and community-centered care.
As a school nurse in a rural district, I plan to continue serving underserved populations—a passion deeply rooted in my lived experiences and cultural background. I am driven by the belief that every student deserves access to high-quality, culturally responsive health care that supports their ability to learn, thrive, and feel seen. This scholarship empowers me to keep moving forward in my journey and contribute to meaningful change within the communities that shaped me.
